Random 40k Tables: Build Your Own Tyranid Hive Fleet

Greetings patrons!

Today I want to share a toolset I’ve built: a full set of random tables for creating your very own Tyranid Hive Fleet from scratch. Anyone who’s spent time in the 40K universe knows the Tyranid Hive Fleets are some of the more enigmatic threats to the galaxy, each one shaped by its own hunger and its own brand of terror and menace. I wanted a way to generate that depth at the table in minutes, not months, so that’s exactly what I built.

What follows is seventeen tables covering everything from your Hive Fleet’s name, what kind of Genestealer Cult it uses, to the dire circumstance gathering around it right now. Roll through them in order, or pick and choose the ones that speak to you — either way, by the end you’ll have a Hive Fleet with a name, a personality, and a legend all its own. Grab a cup of coffee and settle in, and let’s build something together.

The following tables were originally built for an episode of Lorebeards 40k (Find us on Youtube!). To use them, all you need is a single d4, roll once for each category and record the result to make your own Hive Fleet!
